Planning a Wedding Rehearsal

Putting a wedding together can require a lot of planning that usually lasts for months or even years. From the little details of the reception to getting everything perfect for the ceremony, you will want the event to go as well as possible. However, they are not obligated to plan the rehearsal dinner either. Sometimes both the bride and groom’s parents work together to pay for the rehearsal dinner. Other times, if the bride and groom are paying for the wedding themselves, they will include the costs for the dinner in their overall wedding budget.

When planning a rehearsal dinner, try to make sure that it is follows shortly after the rehearsal. You can have the dinner at a restaurant or you can have it at catered at another location. Wherever you have the dinner, it should ideally be located very close to where the rehearsal is. That way it will take only a short time for everyone to travel.

If you have a house or a hotel room big enough to host the people in your wedding ceremony, then you can use that space to have your wedding rehearsal dinner. Depending on the type of ceremony you are having, you might have as few as 10 people or as many as 2 dozen individuals involved in your wedding ceremony.

While most follow the rule that a rehearsal dinner is only for those involved in the wedding ceremony, others choose to invite out of town guests as well because they have traveled so far for the wedding. Ultimately, the decision is up to the bride and groom.
